How can I Be
Saved?
We all long for the world to be good,
for people to live in peace,
for all to act in love and justice.
But there’s a problem –
We are all flawed.
In the beginning, God created a beautiful, perfect world for us, full of peace and joy as we lived in perfect obedience to Him. Sadly, our free choice to rebel and sin against God brought brokenness. Now our world is filled with fear, hate, depression, uncertainty, and every form of suffering.
Can there be real hope to find this peace and joy again?

The answer to this impossible problem is the gift of Jesus Christ.

The Bible’s Old Testament prophecies constantly pointed to the One who would suffer, take away sin and restore a fallen world.
But he was pierced for our transgressions; he was crushed for our iniquities; upon him was the chastisement that brought us peace, and with his wounds we are healed. Isaiah 53:5
The Bible’s New Testament records how God took on humanity like us and was born to die.
And she shall bring forth a son, and thou shalt call his name JESUS: for he shall save his people from their sins. Behold, a virgin shall be with child, and shall bring forth a son, and they shall call his name Emmanuel, which being interpreted is, God with us. Matthew 1:21,23
Why would He come to suffer and die?
God’s original plan for mankind to be united with Him couldn’t fail! In love, JESUS came to pay for our sins and set us free from the power of sin over our lives.
Because God is holy, no one can stand before Him without an absolutely perfect record. We are all found lacking!
Because God is just, His justice demands payment for any sin. In a court of law, there is a penalty required for breaking the law.
He couldn’t be a righteous judge in forgiving some sins but demanding payment for others.
For the wages of sin is death;… Romans 6:23a
Death actually begins in this present life as separation from God and results in every form of suffering and pain in our world. This separation will lead to Hell. No amount of good works or remorse will clear our debt.
God’s Love Took Action –
Jesus Christ came as the remedy!
…But the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord. Romans 6:23b
Eternal life is God’s own life – the Holy Spirit, which is the very power of God, will live in you.
For God so loved the world, that he gave his only Son, that whoever believes in him should not perish but have eternal life. John 3:16
Repent and be baptized every one of you in the name of Jesus Christ for the forgiveness of your sins, and you will receive the gift of the Holy Spirit. Acts 2:38
How do you Receive the Gift of the Eternal Life?
Repent of your sins by acknowledging that you’ve broken His Holy Standard and that you’re a sinner in God’s eyes. NOW transfer your TRUST from whatever you’ve been trusting in, to Jesus alone to save you. This is what it means to believe in Him.
When you do, a divine transaction is made in God’s courtroom and you stand boldly with confidence before God because you’ve received the verdict, “Righteous!”
God will also count us as righteous if we believe in him, the one who raised Jesus our Lord from the dead. He was handed over to die because of our sins, and he was raised to life to make us right with God. Romans 4:24-25 NLT
A New Nature and New Life!
Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation. The old has passed away; behold, the new has come. 2 Cor 5:17
When we trust in Jesus’ payment for our sins, we become completely righteous before God. He gives us a new nature that desires to please Him and comes to live in us by His Holy Spirit, the very same power that defeated death! Now we can live a life full of joy and peace and become His hands and feet of love and freedom to others as we look forward to His return when He fully restores all Creation.
I am come that they might have life, and that they might have it more abundantly. John 10:10
